In 2016, Hungary's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 15.9% compared to 2015, reaching 93,592.

Hungary ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 40.5% (from 157,234 in 2011).
