Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2008, Austria's population change increased by 1.1% compared to 2007, reaching 9.3.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.6.

Austria ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.1% (from 9.5 in 2003).
