Employment rates by citizenship

In 2008, Belgium's employment rates by citizenship decreased by 0.1% compared to 2007, reaching 68.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 71.9%.

Belgium ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.2% (from 67.1% in 2003).
