Fertility indicators

In 1983, Belgium's fertility indicators decreased by 2.5% compared to 1982, reaching 1.57.

Belgium ranks 16th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.1% (from 1.69 in 1978).
