In 2025, Belgium's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex decreased by 9.8% compared to 2024, reaching 16.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 20.9%.

Belgium ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 18.7% (from 20.3% in 2020).
