Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2018, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 9.7% compared to 2017, reaching 18.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 32.1%.

Belgium ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 50.5% (from 12.5% in 2013).
