In 2013, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 1.8% compared to 2012, reaching 45,256.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.4% (from 42,553 in 2008).
