Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2005, Bulgaria's population change increased by 2.2% compared to 2004, reaching 9.3.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.2.

Bulgaria ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.3% (from 9.0 in 2000).
