Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2008, Bulgaria's population change increased by 4.0% compared to 2007, reaching 10.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.6.

Bulgaria ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 19.5% (from 8.7 in 2003).
