Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2010, Bulgaria's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 11.7% compared to 2009, reaching 15.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.4%.

Bulgaria ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 42.5% (from 26.6% in 2005).
