Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2014, Bulgaria's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 58.8% compared to 2013, reaching 27.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.9%.

Bulgaria ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 97.1% (from 13.7% in 2009).
