Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2000, Bulgaria's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.3% compared to 1999, reaching 68.4.

Bulgaria ranks 21st out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.5% (from 67.4 in 1995).
