Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 15.3% compared to 2019, reaching 9.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.3%.

Bulgaria ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 40.2% (from 6.5% in 2015).
