Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 16.3% compared to 2020, reaching 7.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.7% (from 7.2% in 2016).
