Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Croatia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.4% compared to 2023, reaching 78.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.5.

Croatia ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.4% (from 78.6 in 2019).
