In 1978, Czechia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.1% compared to 1977, reaching 74.4.

Czechia ranks 10th out of 16 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.8% (from 73.8 in 1973).
