Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2021, Czechia's life expectancy by age and sex decreased by 1.0% compared to 2020, reaching 80.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 82.9.

Czechia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.9% (from 82.1 in 2016).
