Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2009, Estonia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 70.2% compared to 2008, reaching 8.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.7%.

Estonia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 53.8% (from 5.2% in 2004).
