Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2009, Hungary's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 8.9% compared to 2008, reaching 78.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 75.7%.

Hungary ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 32.8% (from 58.9% in 2004).
