Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Estonia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.4% compared to 2023, reaching 79.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.5.

Estonia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.5% (from 79.0 in 2019).
