In 1969, Estonia's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 3.2% compared to 1968, reaching 25,527.

Estonia ranks 18th out of 18 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 17.7% (from 21,683 in 1964).
