Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2008, Finland's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 3.6% compared to 2007, reaching 34.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 65.1%.

Finland ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 23.2% (from 45.2% in 2003).
