Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Finland's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 10.4% compared to 2006, reaching 36.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Finland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 15.5% (from 42.6% in 2002).
