Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2014, France's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 8.8% compared to 2013, reaching 18.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 28.6%.

France ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 22.4% (from 15.1% in 2009).
