In 2021, France's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 3.6% compared to 2020, reaching 269,431.

France ranks 1st out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.5% (from 366,480 in 2016).
