In 2022, France's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 9.9% compared to 2021, reaching 296,218.

France ranks 1st out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 19.0% (from 365,731 in 2017).
