In 1991, Germany's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 25.9% compared to 1990, reaching 3,012,319.

Germany ranks 1st out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 48.1% (from 2,034,339 in 1986).
