In 1991, Luxembourg's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 3.7% compared to 1990, reaching 12,030.

Luxembourg ranks 25th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 23.3% (from 9,758 in 1986).
