In 2009, Greece's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 4.0% compared to 2008, reaching 21.4%.

Greece ranks 10th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.1% (from 28.2% in 2004).
