In 2021, Hungary's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 15.9% compared to 2020, reaching 42,428.

Hungary ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 54.7% (from 93,592 in 2016).
