In 2022, Hungary's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 14.6% compared to 2021, reaching 48,616.

Hungary ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 39.5% (from 80,335 in 2017).
