Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2010, Hungary's population change decreased by 6.2% compared to 2009, reaching 9.0.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.4.

Hungary ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.2% (from 9.7 in 2005).
