Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2009, Hungary's population change decreased by 3.0% compared to 2008, reaching 9.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.5.

Hungary ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.1% (from 9.4 in 2004).
