In 1976, Hungary's fertility indicators decreased by 5.1% compared to 1975, reaching 2.23.

Hungary ranks 9th out of 19 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 15.5% (from 1.93 in 1971).
