Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2016, Hungary's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 1.5% compared to 2015, reaching 74.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1%.

Hungary ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.3% (from 80.5% in 2011).
