Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2016, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 1.0% compared to 2015, reaching 52.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1%.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 20.3% (from 43.3% in 2011).
