Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2007, Hungary's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.1% compared to 2006, reaching 73.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 79.1.

Hungary ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.4% (from 72.6 in 2002).
