At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2017, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 9.6% compared to 2016, reaching 17.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 20.0%.

Ireland ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 10.1% (from 18.9% in 2012).
