In 2017, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 10.8% compared to 2016, reaching 14.8%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.7%.
Ireland ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 15.6% (from 12.8% in 2012).
