In 2017, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 4.2% compared to 2016, reaching 24.9%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.7%.
Malta ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 43.9% (from 17.3% in 2012).
