Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Ireland's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.4% compared to 2024, reaching 70.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 66.6%.

Ireland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.6% (from 62.4% in 2020).
