Population structure indicators at national level

In 2025, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.5% compared to 2024, reaching 26.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.7.

Ireland ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.6% (from 24.5 in 2020).
