Population structure indicators at national level

In 2024, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.6% compared to 2023, reaching 26.2.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.0.

Ireland ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.6% (from 23.9 in 2019).
