In 2024, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate of older people by sex increased by 22.8% compared to 2023, reaching 20.5.

Ireland accounts for 123.5% of the EU-27 total of 16.6.

Ireland ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 95.2% (from 10.5 in 2019).
