Income inequality for older people - EU-SILC survey

In 2025, Ireland's income inequality for older people increased by 7.9% compared to 2024, reaching 8.46.

Ireland accounts for 102.7% of the EU-27 total of 8.24.

Ireland ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.5% (from 7.94 in 2020).
