Income inequality for older people - EU-SILC survey

In 2024, Ireland's income inequality for older people decreased by 2.2% compared to 2023, reaching 7.84.

Ireland accounts for 95.4% of the EU-27 total of 8.22.

Ireland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.0% (from 7.54 in 2019).
