Housing cost overburden rate by poverty status - EU-SILC survey

In 2024, Ireland's housing cost overburden rate by poverty status decreased by 4.3% compared to 2023, reaching 4.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.2%.

Ireland ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.5% (from 5.2% in 2019).
