At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2019, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 6.5% compared to 2018, reaching 24.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 18.7%.

Italy ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.4% (from 25.1% in 2014).
