At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2020, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 2.1% compared to 2019, reaching 18.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.9%.

Italy ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.5% (from 19.0% in 2015).
