In 2014, Italy's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 1.1% compared to 2013, reaching 1,317,327.

Italy ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.3% (from 1,152,323 in 2009).
